What is hemp-derived THC? Is it marijuana?
Hemp and marijuana are both varieties of plants from the genus Cannabis. Hemp contains less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC (by weight) and is federally legal, while marijuana contains more than 0.3% Delta-9 THC (by weight) and is not legal in every state.
Are THC drinks legal?
Yes. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the production and sale of hemp and hemp-derived products, including those containing THC levels of 0.3% or less. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp, although regulation of hemp-derived THC currently occurs at the state level.
Is Mystic Cove safe?
Yes! All of our THC drinks are rigorously tested by an accredited, third-party laboratory to ensure quality, potency, and safety. That said, you should not drink a hemp-derived THC beverage if you are planning on driving a car or operating heavy machinery. Refrain from hemp beverages if you are pregnant or nursing.
What are the effects of consuming drinks made with THC?
Every person is unique and just like beer, THC beverages affect different people differently. Because of our emulsified delivery of THC, most people feel the effects of Mystic Cove in about 15 minutes, lasting for one to two hours. Again, what people feel varies depending on tolerance level. Regular consumers of THC may have a higher tolerance. If you’ve never had THC drinks before, approach it like you might alcohol. Consume thoughtfully – start low and go slow.
Do you have to be 21 to drink Mystic Cove?
Yes. The legal age to consume any THC product in any state is 21 years old.
Where can I buy Mystic Cove?
Mystic Cove is for 21+ customers and is available at all Sebago Brewing Company locations. You can also buy Mystic Cove Drinks through our distributor partners Nappi and Pine State in Maine. (They service all of the on- and off-premise licensed accounts who sell alcohol.) There are no limitations for where Mystic Cove and other Delta-9 THC beverages can be sold, though we anticipate some rule changes in the coming year.
Can You Mix THC Drinks with Alcohol?
It’s not recommended. THC does intensify the effects of alcohol, which could lead to greater impairment. The safest thing is to avoid combining Delta-9 THC drinks and alcohol.
Can I pass a drug test if I drink Mystic Cove?
You might not. While hemp-derived THC is legal, most standard drug tests are designed to detect even small amounts of Delta-9 THC in your system, so consuming it can cause you to fail a drug test.
